Thai Airways and Singapore Airlines Form New Strategic Partnership

THAI Airways and Singapore Airlines have signed an MoU to form a strategic partnership that seems designed to plug the gaps in THAI's network.

This will expand TG's reach back into the USA without using their own aircraft, instead codesharing and FF reciprocation on SQ services under the proposed partnership. It is also expected that it will fill TG's gaps on some European services as well.

In an unexpected announcement released today, Thai Airways and Singapore Airlines have signaled their intention to form a strategic partnership. Given their proximity, which can be covered in a 2:30 flight, it's not immediately clear how the partnership benefits both Asian carriers.
