...I thought it time to introduce myself.

As I've already said elsewhere, I'm not really a frequent flyer - the best I've ever managed is Silver at QF (though I'm about to hit Silver with VA, mostly through my own endeavours and a little help from hubby). I've been reading the forum in an effort to improve the flights that I do take, and to satisfy my interest in aircraft. (nobody, no matter what their status, wants to sit in the middle seat of a 737)

I'm still seriously confused about how to interpret fare class info on EF, but I do find the seat maps super useful when choosing flights.

I like planes, I'm interested in what I'm flying in and how it works, I like nice things (who doesn't?), wine, food, my husband and cat. My intention is to be relatively unremarkable in my job, travel as much as I can afford to, and retire to become a grey nomad and then a mad old cat lady.

HI thanks guys, it's good to get a welcome. In response to the question: my favourite cat is the one in my lap on a cold night! :D In terms of breeds, I do love a ragdoll or birman. I can't stand those ones they breed in America to be cute with a flat face and tiny, folded ears, and worse short stubby legs. This kind of inbreeding is cruel IMO and leads to genetic weaknesses in the animals and probably chronic pain. Currently, we were adopted by a standard tabby with white chest and socks - he's strong-minded and rules the house through fear of claw punishment (be we don't mind being cat slaves).

Thanks for the link. I didn't realise AFF was so comprehensive. I do like dogs as well, but they are a lot more work and we really don't have the space, sadly. I say dogs are a lot more work, but that doesn't take into account how demanding Barry is. Tonight he sat next to me staring at my lap until I move my laptop so he could lie in it. And then he scratched me when I dared to move him so I could get up and go to the toilet!
