Hi all,
I am planning to fly PER to FRA in late Aug 2011. I can see fares for $AUD2550 return in Y+ on the QF Singapore site. Can I book those fares from Australia (using the Singapore site)? I would then use an ASA to fly PER-SIN-PER and call QF to connects the PNRs once booked. The Y+ fare from PER to FRA is $5400 or so (with the PER-SIN legs in Y anyway).:-|
Is there an obvious flaw in my strategy that I've missed?
cheers

That plan should work fine, just make sure you give an ample connection time in SIN regardless. However, I’d wait for a few more confirmations before booking, just incase I have mis-figured something. :)

Booking on the SIN website if not an issue, if it was me though I would be factoring in a 24 hour transit either way to allow for possible issues and unforeseen changes, massive schedule changes have been known to happen which may not be obvious until April next year. The airline world schedules itself around northern hemisphere summer and winter, when such changes occur.

I have been booking flights using the QF Singapore website for ~4 years now and have not had any issues.

As markis10 mentioned it may be worthwhile to leave adequate time between connections as there have been heavy schedule changes recently.

Thanks for your replies. The flights are booked and I'm very happy with the price.
Now to see what the new Y+ cabin will be like. I have been able to select seats in Y+ but obviously at this stage SeatGuru wont be much help to select the better seats. I'm not sure how many of the 2 class 744s have been converted at this stage so I guess it will take a while until we get some opinions on the best Y+ seats...
cheers
Bert
