Hi

Just looking at making a J booking SIN-PEN prior Easter. The options I have are SQ, MI or MH, and the difference in price isn't huge (MH cheapest, SQ costliest). All the flights are operated by MI, with whom I've never flown, apart from one operated by MH.

Not a long flight, we'll probably spend just as long in the lounge:)

Just wondering if there is any difference among the lounges that SQ, MI or MH ticketing would get me into, and which you reckon is the best.

Cheers skip

A topic question on SIN for which I'm not an expert, I'm shocked ;)

All SilkAir (MI) operated flights depart from Terminal 2.

You have the MH T2 lounge, open only from 0500 to 2100 7 days, and the SQ SilverKris which is open 24x7.

Options beyond this are the T3 SilverKris or depending on status the KrisFlyer Gold in T3 which are both accessible airside on the Skytrain. Skytrain is effecient based on your connection time.

I don't know much about these lounges first hand, so can anyone give some first hand expeirence of these options?

I think I may be able to help here, seeing that I've been to all 3 lounges recently.

MH - located in T2. Lounge is very basic. When I was there in the afternoon they had a few hot food offerings. 2 computers if i'm not mistaken. But quiet, as only MH pax use it.

MI - SATS lounge in T2. Better than MH lounge. But they do not have any flight announcements or even a screen so you need to watch out so as to not miss your flight! A small First Class section which isn't really separated to the rest of the lounge. Food offerings better than MH lounge. A lot more people as they are the contract lounge for several airlines.

SQ - Been to both T2 and T3. T3 is, in my opinion, the best J lounge that I have ever been to. Looks good, spacious, food offerings fantastic, never have to queue for anything including showers. I could spend a good 1-2 hours there i think. T2 is old, claustrophobic feel as the ceilings are quite old. chairs from 80's era. Dark. Food offerings somewhat similar to T3, but presentation is pretty ordinary.

So if you wanna lounge it, SQ is the way to go. I would only consider MH if you're going via KLIA in which case the MH J lounge in KLIA isn't too bad. But still can't beat SQ's T3.

Hope that helps. BTW how much difference in cost is MH vs MI vs SQ?
