Hi,

I've received an email from SIA about changes to my seat allocation for both my flights SIN-CDG and CDG-SIN in December this year. Originally, my partner and I selected to sit in the upper economy cabin (75A/B) as the 2-4-2 config is the best in Y. However, the email I received today reallocated us to 50A/B. I login into my KF account to see the changes and it won't let me view the seat map for the upper deck - it still says the aircraft type is A380-800. I called SIA and was informed that the aircraft for both our flights have been changed to a single deck plane - I asked if it was the 777 or A350 but she couldn't tell me any more information.

Has anyone else flying on SQ336 or SQ335 received an email about their seat changes?

I had the same thing but Sin-Lhr in December (change from a380 - 773ER). Normal website seatmap wouldn't work but on the iOs app it did work - changed seats etc., So if you have an iPhone/iPad give that a go.

I wonder where all the A380's are going?

Probably the operator meant a single deck of economy .... SQ operates several variants of the A380. Some have an economy section upstairs, others have an all business class upper deck. I expect your aircraft has been switched to all J upper deck. If you are still seeing a 3-4-3 configuration on the seat map it is still an A380. Operator should have known that but some of them are utterly useless.

CDG services tend to be consistently operated by A380: as there is only one a day. It moves around a bit on the LHR services due to 4xdaily services for most of the year.

I also expect they need the extra economy seats on the Australia A380 flights to SYD/MEL as flights at that time of the year are typically full in Y and quite open in J.

Thanks Dajop. After browsing SeatGuru it makes more sense now. Both flights will now be using the A380 - four class V2 rather than the three class V1. The Operator was not helpful at all.
