Simpler and fairer wine: qantas dismisses it's wine panel

Who knows? Money generally seems to be the core issue in decisions lie this, though it doesn't seem from the article that they were paying huge bucks for the panel. Anyway, I guess the proof will be in the pudding (or the bottle), and we will see in time if the quality improves, decreases, or remains about the same.
 
You may have noticed that the QF F & J wine guide booklet also stopped having new editions a while back. That did not surprise me as much as this information about the wine panel.
 
I agree booze is important, but really how many people choose QF purely for the wine selection?
Unless of course the wine panel was a smart way to make Australian wines bid/compete on price so QF could leverage it's position - then it makes total sense to keep it!
