I am a new silver status (yay) i am flying to Rome on singapore airlines does my status give me extra luggage? I read the T&C but it confused me a bit as I dont think they are code share flights as they were booked through singapore air. By the time I fly home again I should be gold status so that means that I will have extra luggage allowance is this correct??
any help please

Hi sawa,

Welcome to AFF..
Which class of travel are you? Generally speaking SQ silver status doesn't offer very much benefit... Just a stepping stone to Gold.. which then has some extra allowances for luggage & the pleb lounges on offer..

Hi Sawa...welcome to the forums!

If they are not codeshare flights (which it isn't as you booked with Singapore direct by the sounds of things) you are not entitled to any extra baggage allowance as Virgin isn't a member of Star Alliance so that doesn't apply.
And even if you do post Gold by the time you're on your way home, you still won't be entitled to extra luggage as it isn't a flight number/codeshare starting with VA

However IF you booked direct with Virgin but flying with Singapore, then you will get extra luggage on the way home (providing you can prove it via a statement)

Do take note of their allowance (20kg)....they are very strict in Economy about this and will charge you extra if over

Hi mella2007,
Just to check i have booked a flight with Etihad to Europe with a Etihad flight number.
I am also a silver velocity freq flyer as Sawa, does this also mean that I do not get any additional baggage allowance for this flight also with Etihad?
Cheers,
EuroFlyer
