Hi Everyone, I 've been reading the threads for a while and I've also searched but dont think I've come across this question...hopefully not. I am heading on my first trip (like a few others) in business class next week on Singapore Airlines A380 and I'm very excited. Heading to Zurich, stopping over in Singapore T3 for a few hours. Unfortunatley I don't have many FF points so I paid for the flight in full but have always wanted to experience a trip to Europe this way. Hard to justify I know...

My question is the flight from Singapore to Zurich is still on Singapore Airlines but is a codeshare flight LX on Swiss..still using the A380. Can I use the Silver Kris lounge? I've checked the airport site and a few others and it seems I can. I hope so as it seems like the nicest one and I've got a 3 hour or so stopover...if I can use it I hope they don't kick me out after midnight as the flight leaves at 1.20am or something like that.

Also I'm assuming I can use both the Air New Zealand and SIA lounge in Sydney..I hear the Air New Zealand lounge is better..

Any help would be much appreciated.

Yes SQ J class entitles you to access. When I was in the J lounge in sin you can sneak into the F lounge across te hall, just create a few distractions.

Try both of them out while you are there.

Ha...I'm not very good at creating distractions...I'm happy to be in the J lounge..but you never know, if I can sneak in I'll try. From what I've read the door attendants are pretty vigilant.

Not as easy as you say when there are a couple of attendants at reception.

Not sure what the First Class side is like but the Business class side is quite OK. Plenty of food and drink options and plenty of desktops available. A few good lookers as well. ;)

The lounge is huge and mostly open plan. Only problem is it has been crowded for well over 2 over hours now and people are finding it difficult to get seats with some of them walking round and round. I sat at the long table and had a couple of beers and Pringles. Wonderful choice of food in a lounge but I am still stuffed from all the airline food earlier today.

I agree. I've done my trip now and there are two watchful attendants on the first class reception. I also agree that the lounge is very crowded. I was waiting for a flight to Zurich and I arrived around 11pm Singapore time. The lounge is huge and quite brightly lit in most areas so there aren't many places to sit and close your eyes. I did manage to get a seat though. I wasn't impressed with the food but that could just be that I was tired and had imbibed a few glasses of alcohol on the flight from Sydney to Singapore. The showers were very nice and there was no queue when I wanted one. Just straight in.

I tried two other lounges on my trip. The Swiss Air business class lounge in Zurich and the panorama lounge at gate E and both were poor in terms of food. Drinks were fine but food virtually non existent. The showers are nice in the Swiss Air lounge...maybe that's what we're paying for? By far the best lounge was the Virgin Upper Class lounge in Hong Kong. Absolutely amazing food, service and showers.

.

I have used the Singapore J lounge many, many times now and fully agree with your comments. I also used The Private room once when I had a SQ F ticket.

The J Lounge:

* showers are very good, and never had to queue. Just watch your clothes though as the water seems to flood out into the adjoing dressing room easily. So put your shoes and clothes up.

* food is fine for a snack with good variety. ut has always left me wanting if I felt like an actual meal (weres the a la cater dining of The Private Room was most appreciated)

* lounge is is and spacious, but at times quite busy. I have always found a seat though

* has always been ample pc's available for internet access

* both J and F receptions have always had ample staff when I have been there, and so sneaking into either would have been difficult if not impossible.

Just a note for reference if anyone happens to be in the T3 silverkris lounge during the late evening peak ( ie before nearly all the European departures and second wave of Australian departures) and have plenty of time, the T2 lounges are probably a lot quieter and may be worth the trek across to T2 for some peace and quiet.

Easy to sneak into the F side. Just create some diversions.

Used to do it all the time before my PPS years!
