Last year we were in Kenya visiting Lake Naivasha for a boat ride. On arrival the guides warn all tourists not to wander off, not to approach any wildlife and to stick together. Signposts around repeating same.

Not long after we left a busload of Chinese tourists arrives. One of them wanders off from the party because he sees a hippo and decides to take a selfie with it. As expected the hippo didn't appreciate this and lunges out and kills by crushing his head. Another in the touring party sees this, so runs over and starts hitting the hippo in the head with his camera! With all the commotion another hippo lurches forward and bites off the leg of the second tourist.

Of course it was the animals fault:rolleyes:

Well, I have to confess I once nearly ran over an elephant in Kruger National park in South Africa. I was watching something else (stupid) and turned a corner without looking (stupider) and had to brake suddenly when I noticed the herd of elephants blocking our path. I stared open mouthed for a short while (dumb) and then took precious seconds to realise the bull elephant was getting ready to charge (dumber). Amid some cursing (me), screaming (my wife) and laughing (my father-in-law) I managed to reverse rapidly with an elephant chasing us. Best reverse handbrake turn of my life and we were off and away with a story to tell.
Nowadays I have children to perform the stupid acts for me.

Lots of tourists think the zebras in the grounds at the Livingston Hotel at Victoria Falls are tame, which they are not, despite being used to having humans around. Did see one guy try to walk up to a zebra foal only for its mother to swing around at lightning speed and land a hind hoof with such force to his chest that he became airborne.
