I swear I had a signature when I was last online (few months ago). It has now gone, and I can find no way to put one back on.

Am I crazy or have they been removed?
 
You are not crazy. That feature is no longer free. If you wish to have a signature then you need to become a silver member, at least, for that privilege. You can use the "member of" option in your profile settings to specify which programs you belong to.
