SIA Aircraft

I'm doing a SIA itinerary next month SYD-SIN-HKG-SIN-HKG.

SYD-SIN-SYD is a 747-400 service and SIN-HKG-SIN is a 777-200 service. According to Seat Guru SIA have 4 flavours of 747 and 2 flavours of 777-200 plus a 777-200ER.

If I want to ask SIA for a seat assigment how do I found out which type of aircraft is being used on these sectors?

SQ seats

Just booked RTW SQ (J). They offered to allocate seats for each sector but were unable to for the waitlist sectors. They then allocated seats for each sector (including WL sectors!) :?
Asked if there was a seat map which they advised 'yes, at their web site'. Have spent most of the morning looking.... :? :?

What class are you in? If you are booking online at www.singaporeair.com you can select seats at time of booking, or any time up to check in.

The 777 is a regional configuration rather than the longhaul configuration used eg to CHC and AKL.

Please let us know what class you are in and we can advise good seats.

What flights are you on. 12 is typically 2nd row in business class (11 is bulkhead in all aircraft configurations), with A being window and C being aisle.

On www.singaporeair.com the seatmaps are a bit hard to find. Need to go to fleet information and select maps from there, but with so many 777 and 747 configs it isnt at all obvious which applies.

If you let us know which flights you are taking I can take a stab (or ask others on your behalf) what the aircraft config is.

On the waitlist segments your seating request wont hold. You will need to reconfirm seating once the waitlist clears (assuming it does clear).

I'm travelling economy and was looking at Seat Guru to try an select a reasonable seat. Usually I try to get an aisle seat centre section immediately behind business class. I Also flash my UAMP 1K membership card on check-in to see if I can get the seat next to me blocked (occasionally works). Unfortunately the booking was done online.

If the booking was done online (or by unfortunately did you mean offline?) then you can bring up the seatmap of your flight on www.singaporeair.com (look under "My Bookings" near top right when logged in).

The bulkhead economy row starts at the same number (31) each a/c but exit rows vary.

If you have a popular seat (bulkhead, exit row) then it is unlikely to be empty beside you unless the load on the flight is low (or perhaps if you are PPS). There is no policy for blocking for *G on SQ.
