Ordered one set today.

That is certainly a good price and below cost for Australian resellers, so not going to be beaten locally. But nobody in their right mind would be paying $749. I paid around US$330 for mine (including shipping with the A$ was stringer than it is now). So assuming that price is in A$, its excellent value.

NM,
It was your recommendation that prompted me to purchase. Since my daughter found out,she wants them.(No chance)

Price is in Aus $$$

Is it really that good? Comapred to a Bose QC3/QC15? I know it's a different product altogether as it is in-ear, just wondering whether the sound quality and noise isolation matches (or beats) the Bose.

Can't try it out anywhere, that's the problem. So would need to rely on other people's experience.

Appreciate your comments.

There are a couple of threads already detailing people's opinion on the Bose QC's v Shures.

I have the Bose QC2 and recently I purchased the Shure 210.

Well, I am so happy with the Shure SE210 that it's made me wonder how I could ever have been enchanted by the Bose.

Yes i was aware of the previous thread, was hoping for a bigger sample size that's all. But i have to say, the SE530 is half the price of a QC3. So if the sound and noise-isolation is "as good as" the bose, it's really a no brainer for me.

Might get one after all.

In my opinion, the sound quality and external noise reduction are both significantly better with the Shures. I have never been a fan of Bose headphones (NC or otherwise) as the sound is too coloured for my liking.

The active noise cancellation of the Bose is as good as any active noise cancellation technology around for the price. However, its really only effective at low-mid frequencies and most effective for "constant" type sounds. So it does a good job at removing noise from the air conditioning, engines etc. However, its pretty useless against a crying baby. The in-ear isolation of devices such as the Shure units works effectively across the audio spectrum.

I also find I can sleep with the SE530s in my ears while turning your head sideways on a pillow with the Bose results in clicks and splutters from the NC circuit (as the external microphones get confused by resting on a pillow) and they become quite uncomfortable. However, some people can't stand wearing in-ear devices and find them very uncomfortable. So comfort is very much a personal matter. I found the SE530s more comfortable than my old E3s.

Best thing is ask people for their experiences (as you have here) and read lots of reviews.

I'm another fan of these, I originally bought the SE420 after reading a comparison review which rated them better than various active noise cancellation models (including Bose and Sennheiser). After I lost them in a seat back  I got some SE530s which were even better (much improved Bass response, with similar clarity)

And thats a good price, I paid marginally less at SIN airport - about SGD300 I think - for a pair of SE310s for Mrs Pineapple about a month ago.
