Should we credit to QFF or EK Skywards

Hoping to get some knowledge on this scenario:

Family of 4, booked on EK to Europe. (2 of us are Qantas Gold).

I've put our QFF numbers against the booking. Performed preferential seat selection etc.

Flights are 100% EK. Booked direct with Emirates, and all flights on EK flight numbers. It was about 30% more $ to book via Qantas with the QF flight numbers.

The flights are Flex PE, so there's potentially a decent haul of points and credits if we switch to our Skywards numbers. My understanding is that crediting to Qantas FF in this scenario provides a very low earn rate, and no status credits. So on that basis, the "earn rate" would be much better towards our skywards accounts.

So the question is, what do we "lose" by allocating these flights to our Skywards numbers where we have zero status, VS Qantas numbers with gold.

My assumption is, no priority check-in, no lounge access, no extra baggage, and possibly loss of preferential seat selection. Given we've already selected seats using QF Gold numbers, what happens here?

I would add we're not fussed about lounge access on this trip. We're on the 6am out of sydney and doing Dubaiconnect at the layover, so it's not really needed.

Always worth checking if other options might be better

As QF gold you get lounge access:

Eligible customers can also access Emirates Lounges across Australia, Europe, Asia, North Africa and the Middle East when flying on eligible Qantas or Emirates flights with a QF or EK flight number on your ticket.

Wasn't aware of that site. Looks useful, thanks for posting.

Is that still the case if we allocate the bookings to our Skywards numbers though?

In any case, we wouldn't get much out of lounge access on this trip and would prefer a better earn rate

Where you credit miles doesn’t affect your QF gold benefits, some airlines support two frequent travellers numbers in a booking such as Singapore ie
FQTV: Frequent flyer number for mileage accrual
FQTS: Frequent flyer number for status benefits

But this sometimes goes awry, you can just flash your card at longe entry and checkin.
