Should VA have a membership status for FF's above platinum?

thanks JohnK. never had any beeps :(
All in due time. VA is not well known for op-ups although your status could give you an op-up on VA partners.

Be careful of the op-downgrade beep. It looks and feels exactly the same as an op-up beep until you find out the news.

VA has done it to me and I was not happy.

Well they could oversell and take you off the flight. Happened to me in the Atlanta. Gently reminded them that this would mean i would miss my connection back to Sydney.

I consider the taking away of my bulkhead aisle boarding pass for a seat down the back as an op-downgrade. Ask me if I wouldn't mind doing it before you do it. Dont assume that I do not care....

makes sense. now that u mention it, I have been op downgraded :(

was flying EY from SIN to BNE, had a seat move to accommodate some family... I was ok cos the seat was two row back and still retained my aisle seat :)

Virgin does not qualify for giving out status above platinum. Let's see them offer a decent premium service first.

They don't even have a international pub in MEL

I assume you're referring to an international lounge, of which they have none of those any where in the entire system (all of the international lounges use others' lounges).

That said, when VA revamped, that didn't seem to be a big issue to many people. Not sure why it touches on nerves now.

I have made mention of this in another post about the new EY lounge in Syd only being for London flights.

Only being for LHR or AUH transiting flights? I hope you mean AUH as that's were we're going. I'd like the EY lounge use in SYD rather than the Koru Lounge.

Yes my bad swanning_it I did mean both LHR & AUH. I was a bit tired last night and the brain wasn't fully engaged. Enjoy the EY lounge.

I would assume only AUH. VA only fly to AUH (or did I miss the bulletin that they are flying to LHR now? Me = living under rock...)

If you flew any EY service (which must go through AUH anyway), I'd assume as a Velocity elite, you would have lounge access. I guess I'm also assuming that this is perfectly valid for EY operated services, e.g. if you have two VA codeshares going SYD-AUH-LHR (or CDG or FRA or whatever) with both on EY, you can still access the EY lounge if you have the right VA status.

Why is everyone picking on me (sob sob)? Ok now that my brain is fully engaged (or so I hope), yes anat01 you are correct. My understanding is that any EY service or EY/VA codeshare going either to or transiting through AUH gets access if you have the appropriate status.
