Have 2 flights coming up in J and both one way sectors

LHR to NCE flying BA
AUH to KUL (transit HKG) flying CX

I am only Bronze with QF as usually able to credit everything to Virgin.

Am I right in crediting everything to QF? I don't think I'll make Silver with these sectors, so wondering if perhaps there is a better OW program I should use instead?

Any advice helpful, as I know nothing about OW and their partners and obviously want the best status/redemption rates possible

On QF

LHR-NCE is 60SCs
AUH-HKG-KUL 120+80SCs is (assuming both segments are different flight numbers)

So you'll finish with 260SCs in QF. Is 250 the new silver cutoff (or 300?)? Plus ~ 8000pts.

If you're not going to keep flying oneworld there's not really much point in joining any other OW program. If the cutoff is 300, you're only a couple of domestic flights away from silver (which basically gets you seat selection, one one-time-only pass to the QP and a tiny extra luggage allowance on QF metal.).

thanks Doc

Mr Mella will be with me. Do any OW programs do family pooling?

You need to credit something to QF each 18 months to keep the points you have alive.
If not QF then AA may be better. AA has better redemption rates and less $ copayment
But worth checking if those J flights will get you status with CX.

QF allows point transfers to/from family members, but not SC transfers. A points transfer will not keep a QF account alive

You can transfer a max of 100,000 pts every twelve months, and there is a restriction of one transfer every twelve months also.

Also, not sure where you are based, but if in Australia, go and get an everyday rewards card (free), and a single spend (>$31) at least every 18 months with woolworths will keep your account active so your points dont expire.

Yeah not a prob with Everyday Rewards...have had it for ages so do get some points when shopping. I think I'll just stick to QF then, at least we could pool points
