Hi Pandaflyer,

Are you using points or cash for flights?

A JASA TSV-xBNE-DRW earns 140 SC each way for 24000 pts and about $150 cash - so 280 for a return, 560 with double SCs. Depending on where you are in aust a JASA return for the positioning flight to TSV may get you over the line.

As per the title, ex MEL, in which case ADL TSV would make for a good run in itself, earning 240 SC under the double offer.

with a double SC offer MEL-SYD-ASP will net you 480sc in J for around 50k in points and $300 odd in cash. can be done in a day too

I just did this run on Sunday. It is a long day but was fairly relaxing as the flights weren't full.

I did it on Boxing day and I am surprised i wasn't wheeled off the plane in an alcoholic coma in MEL!

What happened to the responsible service of alcohol? ;)

They were responsible! They kept my drink topped!! In all seriousness I was not rolling drunk.. And on the return ASP leg I was one of two people in J.

The best way to maximize the earning is flying to a destination that isn't served directly, hence the asp option, which can be done in 12 hours.

ahh, so is there anywhere like NZ that I can get to indirectly ?
I have a 2yo and wife who would like short beach like holiday...
I know should be a question for travel agent but unfortunatly I did try that and got blank look re SC's

You used to be able to go indirectly to Fiji for a reasonable price, but I think they are no longer around.

new ad for Travel agency "We take you to your destination, however the longest most indirect way possible on one ticket :)"

am I missing somthing ? when I look at points +pay its about $1400 +50000 points

Not sure about 'points plus pay' as an option but if you check a 'Qantas and Jetstar Anyseat Award' and select MEL as departure city and ASP as destination (and return), a same day via SYD should be displayed amongst the options and cost (once you wind back the points to the minimum 48K required) 48K points and around $300. Depends on date selected of course, may not be available at that 'price' every day.
