Hi all,

I will be arriving in HKG at 21:25 (CX, J class) and my connecting flight (Cathay Dragon, J class) departs the next morning at 8:25am.

I was looking at the Regal hotel and others near the airport but the cheapest rate i can see is about $270 which is more than i can afford.

Is it permissible to snooze in one of the J lounges or do they close overnight?

The lounges do close overnight. Most lounges close around 12:30am and the Deck open until last departure. The lounges open again at 5:30am.

Have a look at Novotel Hong Kong Citigate at Lantau, 5 mins drive from airport. I'm there now, can't recall the rate but less than $270 I'm pretty sure.

Check a bit later today for my Trip Report on Lake Baikal for pics and comments.

I think there is also a Marriot chain and another hotel as part of the airport complex if I'm not mistaken.

PP lounges are open 24hrs.
Might be able to catch a few hours sleep.
The PP lounges have private relaxation rooms that can be booked but they are fairly expensive.
Personally I’d catch the MRT and grab a cheap hotel somewhere fairly close. Tsuen Wan and surrounds should have some decent priced hotels and is only a 30 minute train ride away
