I was looking at booking a redemption flight for next year but due to a miscalculation on my part  made me realise I am about 30,000 points short. Really silly mistake but I still have about a month or two to get them, but what would you suggest?

I already have a lot of CCs and at this stage I am not into getting another one as its been a lot of activity on my credit report the last few months.
I as looking at epiQure and stack up on wine for the coming two years... getting wine with bonus points is way cheaper then buying from Qantas, and I dont have enough to transfer from hotel loyalty programs.
I already have health insurance and need to stay with my provider to get other bonus points :D

Does anyone else have any suggestions? Any ideas I might have overlooked?

I think you've answered your question. Wine is always the answer to any problem :)

Do you have a family member with sufficient points to send your way?

Do you have any family members who can lend you some or have any appropriate WW bonuses available?

It all helps.

Definitely wine; there are a few good bonus points on offer and they post usually the same day.

Buying Accor gift cards, $100 Accor gift card gives you 2000 WWR points, equals 870, wry, wry...
30,000 points is a lot of gift cards.
Even several trips Au to NZ if J or F won't cover 30,000.
Does Macquarie Bank still have a something or other where you can get several thousand QFF points for doing something with them.
I think that it might not be anymore, but parking money with them used to give you something.
Edit: hmm, they have dropped earning QFF points from investments, but now only their loan products, Macquarie car loans, (buying a $30,000 car) will give you 30,000 QFF points.
Earn 1 Qantas point for every $1 financed, access your Qantas points in a single lump-sum

Definitely buy wine. It is unlikely to go off, and there are always some good bonus point deals.

OMG, what a great excuse for me to buy wine :D

Any I should definitely stay away from on the bonus points page?

Put me down on the epiqure camp. Not much more than buying the pts from QFF and you'll end up with some wine as well. If you're not a wine drinker buy a few cases of $25/bottle wine with decent bonus points and you can give them for birthday/Xmas/housewarming etc gifts over the next few years.

Well, I might only need about 15,000 points if I can get the flights with Emirates rather then with Qatar. Lets hope for the best... anyone know how far ahead Emirates opens up their flights? Is it 11 months?

I think it's around a month after Qantas. Usually once you can buy tickets online the awards open up so try doing dummy bookings to see when that is. Of course if you can see an award flight open you can call up and buy points up to 10%? But wine is more fun.

18 bottles of wine heading my way :D Its going to be a great month :D Oh, and 15,000 points too. Thanks for the help everyone

30,000 points is a lot of gift cards.
Be very careful with Accor gift cards unless you have prior arrangements with the property you're planning to visit.

Ta for the tip JohnK, just saw the Woolworths ad, was very sweet (looking).
Haven't bought any Accor gift vouchers as yet right now, but might just buy 1 and see what happens, 2000 WWR = 870 Qpoints straight away.
Am just using eRewards surveys as way of amassing Accor points at the moment.
Will have to do a dummy Accor booking one day to see where is the spot to enter the gift voucher details in the booking process.
