I had a day either side of a recent trip, I did the hop on hop off bus one day on my way over to Rio and a four hour wine tour on my way back, however the reciprocity fee sucks!!
Just returned from South America .... I was going to go check out the city ... however you have to pay a USD127 fee ( for AU passport holders) to depart the airport... So I decided to hang about the airport ... It is in the middle of renovations, however there are a few shops etc to keep you entertained .... also a good viewing area if you are a aircraft spotter !

As it does for Chileans coming to Aus.
That fee sure does suck. We were on a connecting international flight, never leaving the airport and they still made us pay

The LA lounges are a bit old-style but quite comfy and the F&B offering is good. They serve Louis Roederer NV Champagne, so that is one reason why I just love SCL! Pleasantly whiled away many an hour there...
Agree although the last time I was there, there were ants all over the sushi....I made the staff take them away less anyone gets ill from eating them...
Luckily we both have two passports, me Aus and EU/UK and bigal has Aus and NZ so if our trip to Antarctica comes to fruition late this year we're sweet.Anyone who has dual passports with NZ, travel on your NZ passport and it's no fees
