Shop to Fly Faster - Transfer Flybuys to Velocity

I don't think the coupon book is specifically designed or targeted towards Flybuys members - it is more of a Coles coupon leaflet with a 10 week promotion. I guess if you shop at Coles nearly everyday (as I do), the system would recognize you as regular shopper at Coles and therefore, a candidate for the promotion.

Just adding a datapoint. We previously used to receive the 10-week promotion coupon book I would say every cycle, but prior to the VFF partnership didn't really use any of the coupons at all. Since we received the last coupon book and post Flybuys-VFF partnership we utilised the the offers quite aggressively (and the email offers for in-store bonus points). Since the partnership we've converted 50K FB points over to earn 25K VFF points (during their 15% bonus promo). We now also have another ~12K points earnt and waiting for the next 15% promo (assuming they'll do that again).

Anyway since this more aggressive use of earning bonus FB points we have not received the latest coupon book I would say for the first time since we started getting them. Also the email offers have become harder to achieve (3 weeks of $140 a week shopping to trigger a bonus - previously was 2 weeks and a smaller spend). It will likely be the case that our shopping at Coles will drop off and we'll be targeted with easier-to-achieve promotions down the track.

yep, that's us (on a smaller scale). With no incentive, will head back to Aldi for the bulk of our shopping.

I have a relative who does not fly VA or SQ or NZ.
But she buys a lot of Coles supermarket foodstuff.
***Point of my post is to ask if anyone has set up a VFF account for a non flying member?*** No, its not my pet that I have in mind.
Idea is to get her to earn FB SC in regards to FB points FF SC, and then transfer SC to me.
She flies MH only.

Easy to do. However T&Cs do require the relative to be at same address to family pool which is the only way to share SCs. Only 2 adults and 4 children in a pool.

I have just received the offer of 1000 point for purchase of a $100 Coles Gift Mastercard. Limit 10 per transaction.

Now am I correct if I purchase 10

Use my Amex 1000 x 3 = 3000 VFF
10 Cards = 10000 FB
Use cards myself at
Coles in weeks 2 and 3
of current 3 week
Offer and get = 1500 FB week 2
= 2500 FB week 3

Don't forget though, there's a $5 purchase fee per card (although I guess the bonus FB points cancels out the fee, or vice versa depending on how you look it!).

Perosnally,I would use my Amex for all the Coles shops and use the GCs at places that don't give you 3MR/$

If I'm reading your post correctly, you're talking about stacking GCs with a spend X to get Y points offer - gift card spend doesn't count towards these targets.

Got Dec but not Jan yet..... What do you do to qualify again?

My January SC has posted.it is a little lonely.

As to receiving offers by email or coupon sheets I don't think there is a simple way of knowing how thet decide things.Sometimes when we go away the offers stop.other times they increase.A couple of years ago I was using all the coupons so they stopped sending them and the email offers declined and had unrealistic spends.
I got the last 2 coupon books and using them and the email offers have increased with smaller spends.
No rhyme or reason.

Just received 15% bonus offer to transfer FB points to Velocity. Have transferred annual maximum. Wish they didn't limit it as have heaps more points left after all the Coles MC GC offers.

Was originally saving them up for a EY redemption but decided to redeem for VFF when that option was made available. Didn't want to start collecting yet another points currency. Effective 1.14c cost for VFF points is a lot higher than I usually 'pay'. Ultimately, will end up redeeming with SQ - 15% bonus helps with the dilution.

You will need to hurry up with that redemption as the 15% bonus will disappear on 23rd March.

Curiously the date of the Singapore Airlines devaluation.

So technically you could transfer FBs to VFF to SIA and double up on the 15% benefits - 15% bonus on transfer and 15% discount

Has it been extended? It was finishing on the 10th March.

If you mean SIA/Krisflyer... The date has not changed that I know of, announced around March 1 as March 23 change.

[h=2]Singapore KrisFlyer Announces Award Chart Devaluation As Of March 23, 2017[/h] March 1, 2017 by lucky 33 Comments

I love the Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer program, given that it’s just about the only way to redeem miles for Singapore Airlines longhaul premium cabin flights. They only make most award space available to their own KrisFlyer members, and not to members of partner frequent flyer programs.
On top of that, KrisFlyer is transfer partners with all four major transferable points currencies — Amex Membership Rewards, Chase Ultimate Rewards, Citi ThankYou, and Starwood Preferred Guest — so the points are quite easy to come by.
Well, Singapore KrisFlyer has just announced an award chart devaluation for bookings as of March 23, 2017. The good news is that the devaluation is fairly mild, and even sort of fair. This isn’t some insane devaluation where some award costs are increasing by 100%, as we’ve seen from other airlines over the years.

Otherwise, the post I replied to mentioned 23 March as the FB transfer date...

Which upon checking my emails on the FB transfer - show March 10.
