Shop-A-Docket is strictly not a rewards program but one has to subscribe (free) by email or look at the back of participating stores' dockets to see what eclectic discounts are available. With email, typically one has to print the voucher or put the code into a smartphone or notebook.
Woolworths discontinued Shop-A-Docket recently but a number of other majors still have these on receipt backs.
At present there's $10 off a main meal (excluding the cheaper Seniors' meals) at most Woolworths/ALH Group pubs around Australia, of which there are 300 plus. This offer is available 23 January to 28 February.
Most if not all of these pubs have pokies but usually in a separate room so thankfully for the majority who don't gamble, the annoying sounds of electronic gaming machines are not audible. Many of the pubs have been renovated. The dining experience varies from extremely basic to excellent value for the price. Many families come for dinner as quite a few of the pubs have a children's playground - usually inside - that is visible from the dining area so we can keep an eye on the little darlings. The pubs' bistros normally open for lunch and dinner seven days a week with some having the kitchen open all day from 1130 to 2100 on Fridays and Saturdays. The usual good range of beers, wine and spirits is available.
If you obtain a free Monty's Rewards card, that's an extra five per cent off drinks and meals. Many don't seem to avail of this discount, which is surprising because it only takes five to ten minutes to sign up and the pubs appear to have many regular patrons.
Geographical coverage of these 'great food great value' (website claim) pubs is variable with a large number in Melbourne but none in Alice Springs, Albury, Ballarat or Bendigo. Coles has many Queensland pubs so that explains some of the lack of coverage in parts of rural Queensland.
