Hi there

I will be in Los Angeles in February for 5 nights and was looking to book the Sheraton at Universal Studios. It seems to have mixed reviews and was hoping for some feedback from anybody that has stayed there. Also, open to other hotel recommendations in LA.

Thanks in advance

I've stayed there before and after the renovations were completed a few years back. The hill is a great workout but there's a shuttle to take you up and back. Hotel is standard USA rooms. Nothing special but you're not exactly staying in that area for the room. If you want to walk out for a snack at 3am you'll be on foot for quite a while. I'd stay there again.

We enjoyed Loews in Santa Monica. Easy walking and in a beachside setting. Our friends enjoyed Shutters in Santa Monica.
The Big Blue Bus is handy if you don't want to drive too much.

Hi there

I stayed at the Sheraton Universal for 4 nights with my son in early January - we had a club room.
Hotel is quite average and the club lounge is really average (very basic breakfast, no alcohol, very basic finger food selection...) - there's nothing around besides Universal Studios (free shuttle or 10 mins walk).

In my opinion it's only good if you plan to visit Universal Studios but then again you wouldn't want to visit for more than a day or max two... so for 5 nights I suggest you stay in Hollywood and take the metro (one stop) to Universal Studios instead, or else stay by the beach (e.g. Santa Monica)

PS if you plan to visit Universal Studios you can get discounted entry tickets from http://arestravel.com/722_attraction-tickets_a10.html
