I came today because there was the "This Round is on Us — Christmas offer" - where you can enjoy a complimentary Christmas theme drink/coughtail on the house but none of the staff members got the memo. Only after the manger read the terms from my phone, they'll give me the long Island I ordered for free.
Now I need to grab another so they charge me to extend the membership.

Question: how quickly does a drink/food purchase show up on your account once paid?
I'm not sure if the waiter added my membership because he brought me the bill (I didn't ask for it yet) and when I showed him the membership, all he did was take a photo or something on this phone..

If you haven't left yet, you could ask for an invoice that shows your membership number. Both @Ecco and I received these at different properties - mine pictured below.

Thanks for the reminder. Just picked my coffee up from the Shangri-La Tokyo Lobby Lounge for an eye watering $17.50. But if this extends my status from Dec 2023 to Dec 2024 I'm a happy camper.

Points posted the next day after I dined at the Shangri-La Sydney. Now waiting to see if the status end date changes to December 2024.
 
They didn't put my membership number in and I have been trying to contact them for 3 days now.
No one picks up phone calls there..
I wrote an email to shangri la and the GM of Sydney and the head duty manager today. Still no response.
 
I had a mocktail at Altitude the day before the cut off on 14th Dec.
Points posted to my account on 15th Dec.
I will follow up later to see if my status retention is updated.

Do you regularly stay at Shangri-La or the status in lieu of your credit card ?

The reason I ask is because I had a soft landing from Jade and have never stayed at any of their properties.

once in 2022 and once in 2023. both were around 5-6nights each.

I got to Jade via the platinum card originally

Lucky! I got a similar email - except it said that they value my loyalty and that I'll need 20 nights or 6000 status points to retain Jade for 2024 🙃

I did stay for a week at a Shangri-La hotel earlier in the year though.
 
Update: Shangri-La Circle Jade status has been officially downgraded a few days into the new year. Goodbye to free breakfasts at Shang 😭
