I'm off to the states next week and flying back from Jacksonville FL to DFW on QF Codeshare (AA metal), connecting to QF8.

I'm planning on bringing back a fair amount of luggage - on QF I am entitled to 3 bags, but not on AA metal.

If I bring 3 bags to JAX, will AA just charge me for the AA leg on their standard domestic pricing? I assume they won't charge me for the QF leg, but that's relying on AA knowing the QF policy - and I won't see my bags at all in DFW nor will I check in with QF.

I'm flying over on QF107 so QF baggage policy applies, and it's all on the same ticket. But QF website is quite clear that the 3rd bag only applies on QF metal.
