G'day, I need assistance
I booked my first ever International Long Haul trip from Syd - Dub in PE and Y, big mistake. In all the International Long Hauls I have done I have never sat in anything other than J/D, usually with VS. As I was paying for two of us this time we simply could not afford J. And here is the problem
Syd-Auh, 14 hours in PE was uncomfortable, but bearable. The cabin was practically empty and we had our choice of seats, we choose 10A & 10C, bulk head....
Auh - Dublin was a different kettle of fish.We were on a code share EY flight and we had row 33, exit row seats. Lots of leg room, but still cough. My reason for never going Y has nothing to do with being a snob, I just get Claustraphobic and restless in Y. I feel like I cannot breath and I HATE it. I have NEVER slept on a plane, not even on a bed in J, but it is not as tough up the front...
I am fairly confident of a upgrade on the return leg from Auh - Syd, as I intend to ask for it. I am on 80,000 Velocity status credits for the first 4 months of this year so I reckon I can wing that.... But, how am I going to get us both into J on the Etihad flight. I cannot afford to pay for it, at Auh they wanted 6,000 AED per person to upgrade 1 leg....
I know this was my mistake, and one I will never make again, next time I will just pay for the J tickets, but is there a way I can plead or beg for Etihad to shift us forward? I don't think I can handle the return trip if it is in Y, I think I will have a panic attack on the plane.....
PS, I love flying and I have never been in this situation before?
