Been looking up fares etc but thought the experts here might help rethink the problem. Two adults, 1 child (6) to fly to Europe, need to reach LEMNOS (GREECE) and PARIS (FRANCE) - with some travel to Belgium (train)

It's a research trip (Australian nurses in WW1) so specific about places to go ... but dates can be moved somewhat

LEAVE SYDNEY (AU) - 26 August 2011
RETURN SYDNEY (AU) - 8 October 2011

We've been scoping out tickets/timetables to do a marathon stint SYDNEY-ATHENS-LEMNOS first up (some connections could be tight), then LEMNOS-ATHENS, ATHENS-PARIS, PARIS-SYDNEY ...

Instead of PARIS could do BRUSSELS or SCHIPOL, train is fast and easy

Any suggestions? A straight return to Europe, plus a cheap fare into Athens? Or are there other ways to do it?

> what sort of price range are you hoping for???

economy ;)

but time is important, so would pay more for better connections

not much of an answer, I know

So, about $7,099 all up - 2 adults, 1 child (6)

SYD-ATH return - Emirates $5,670
ATH-LEMNOS return - Olympic $650
ATH-CDG return - Air France $779

more expensive to take one-way legs SYD-ATH, ATH-CDG, CDG-SYD ... and with Lemnos not being served by many airlines, things like the Europass didn't offer value

booking tomorrow..........

Take a close look at Aegean Airlines. My wife and I started flying with them a couple of years ago, and love it. Cheap prices, and they serve a range of destinations (not just internal Greek flights).

You can fly Easyjet from Athens to Orly (Paris) and return... flights back through at least early july look like around 37 euro each, plus have to buy some luggage allowane and all but coughpy leaving time (about 6am in the morning)... flights from Athens up to Orly are a bit more expensive but should come in less than that Air France flight... Aegean Airlines may also be cheaper than AF...

Hold on the booking for ATH-MJT (Mytilene) and ATH-CDG.

Aegean Airlines usually have domestic specials for 39 Euro one-way and international specials starting from 59 Euro one-way. Sign-up to to get their email notification.
