Security Question

Hi Guys - after a little assistance re Security at NTL.

Flew in last week on OT (Aeropelican) and on the flight in there were a large number of Chinese business people on the aircraft.
As we were landing (on approach actually) two of the PAX took out video cameras and started videoing the complete RAAF Willy complex including Wedgetails and zooming in on the flight faciliities and FA18's lines up.
I did mention it to one of the ground staff and believe a note was made in the flight doc's
Did try and report the matter however have come up blank with several excuses provided by the ever not so helpful staff at Defence.
Any ideas?
Should I persevere?

Agree - be alert but not alarmed. National security hotline is the next step. If they're not intetested, give up.

I'm have trouble understanding what you think the issue is. Exactly what information did the people get that they can't already get from google earth. Or if they are chinese spooks from their own satellites. Or maybe they have just got some happy snaps of their trip.

As for the ever so helpful defence people. Do you expect them to tell you what they've done?

My thoughts are, probably not...

Here is the question you need to ask yourself. If the person was a white australian, and not asian, would you have even battered an eyelid?

There are lots of people out there who have a keen interest in military hardware and equipment, infact quite a few of my friends are very interested in such things (to the point of actually joining the Army \ Airforce.)

Besides lets face it, in this day and age, google maps \ earth is a far easier and cheaper way of doing reconnaissance.

They were probably from the bank that lent us the money to buy the FA18s, just checking we are looking after their aircraft.
