Good evening and happy holidays AFF,

I quick question if I may, where would you suggest that Mrs OzEire and I should sit on the J* 787 when we are travelling in Y with OzEire jr (infant with no seat) for our DPS-MEL sector ? If you suggest 'premium' seats would it be worth paying the extra (noting we can't sit in an exit row due to the infant). Has anyone tried rows 54-55 (the narrowing at the back), with the 2 seat AC/GH against the windows or should we try to bag the DEF middle only rows 56-57 and risk having (a very unlucky) stranger sitting with us - I'm thinking we select D/F and hope E remains free, is this cheeky ?

I expect a few of you will say that the best seat is actually on the VA flight which leaves about 40 mins later - well, we're only researching at the moment and that is still possible but hard to swallow at about twice the price of the current J* sale fares. But at least we will have a shot at a basinette, I don't know why J* decided against this config on their 787, surely J* targets the price conscious family travel market!

My own business travel (that is, travel for my business but not necessarily in J !) will keep me dual WP on QF/VA this year so no need to chase status on this trip.

Thanks in advance.

OzEire

I may be behind the times here but what option does VA give you that offers a bassinet on DPS-MEL?

Id take the 787 over the 737. With the improved cabin noise and air quality junior might sleep better, then everyone wins!
