For the first time I had no seat allocation available when I made my latest bookings. When I called our friendly Velocity support line I was told they can't allocate seats due to the flight being a code share, odd as it was last time too, but if I call Air NZ direct they will look after it. I was also provided with the Air NZ booking reference which is different to the Virgin one. When calling Air NZ I was told that as a status member their agreement with Virgin is that all benefits apply, no problem, until she couldn't actual make any changes. After a long time on hold she final come back and said sorry but they can't do seat allocation for the codeshare and they don't know why Virgin said they would. That's a bit of a turn around from the initial responce ?
How is allocating seats so difficult and wouldn't ensuring that status members get their benefits seemlessly be in everyones best interests ?
