Hi, AFF community.

Hopefully, I've created this post in the correct sub-forum.

I'm seeking advice/assistance as I haven't had much luck the past two weeks and have been struggling to find flight redemptions (J tickets) from Haneda to Adelaide for early July (1-8 is preferable).

My wife and I have reward points scattered across the following programs:
  1. Qantas
  2. Velocity
  3. Kris
  4. AsiaMiles
I've also paid for an annual subscription to AeroSeats in hopes of finding flights and setting up relevant Alerts, but both have been unsuccessful.

It hasn't all been bad, I have managed to find reward flights however, direct flights via ANA, however they are only available for March. Qantas had one flight available and was also 'Last Seen' on AeroSeats, but upon checking on the Qantas site, I couldn't find any (see below).

Can you suggest any alternative routes for the flight or share some tips on when/how I can find reward flights/redemptions.

I appreciate any assistance :)

Regards,
Drew

Searching on KF there are 2 J awards on the overnight SIN-ADL SQ279 at saver rates on 1/7.

It probably doesn’t help that your booking window includes school holidays in some states.

And another way for KF is via PER. no saver awards but open advantage awards which are 65000 miles against the eastern cities of 68500 for saver awards.
And searching my QFF account there are 2 J awards at 41500 miles on QFF 888 every day from 1/7 to 8/7 except for Saturday 6/7.

Can you fly into SIN. I can see some seats on the 3rd and 10th. And then fly into from SIN-ADL. Also, ANA tend to release seats about a month out I have found. Maybe book a refundable fare ticket and look out for some ANA tickets.

I can see some seats from NRT and HND to BKK but limited seats into Aus. Saw a few into PER but none to SYD.

I think your problem is finding 2 available seats. There are various examples of 1 available seat.

Virgin has 1 on July 1 (probably has 1 on most dates around that). You might just have to trim your expectations and purchase one ticket.

Perhaps the moral of the story is to plan your trip around what's available rather than what you'd like to be available (sorry).

But good luck anyway.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

How wedded to Tokyo departure are you, would you consider taking a Shikansen to Nagoya and fly from there instead? I can see Krisflyer business savers for 2 pax on 1 & 4 July from NGO-ADL and NGO-MEL on 5 July..

I just note that you are consigned to regional product on both sectors NGO-SIN and SIN-ADL whilst you would have long haul product from SIN MEL & SYD.

Sorry I was having a senior moment and only searchped from SIN. From HND there are 2 J saver awards from NRT to SIN on 1/3 and 3/3 for 52000 miles
