Ok, so in the middle of a sc run in the US right now, have been pretty lucky considering the weather. Just crossed 700scs but didn't get changed to gold because my anniversary is september 1st and arrived in the states at the end of august and I assume you need to have flown 4 qantas segments?

By the time I fly home I'll have reached enough sc's for WP, has anyone asked to be recognized as WP especially if you have a number of segments booked on qantas already for when i get back to australia, even if you haven't flown the 4 qantas segments yet?

mmmmm qf pretty tight on the 4 flights rule... can you get a few codeshares added on as part of your pnr back to aus? ps well done on the 700 sc's!

Thanks guys, it's a little frustrating, I was hoping to use my WP status to use points to try and upgrade on the way home, well at least increase my chances, and to check out the first lounge at LAX

Unfortunately my itineray is locked now and no free days for code share....

I'm assuming my flight from LAX-MEL direct is only counted as 1 flight segment also...

This trip has been filled with lessons, this is just another one!

If you don't get into the 1st Class lounge at LAX I wouldn't worry too much. In fact I would try to minimise any time you have to spend beyond security at the LAX international terminal.

AGREE 200% - it is a hell hole!

But surely the 'F' lounge is the best place in hell to be able to park yourself.

Don't get me wrong it is better to be in the 'F' lounge than in the main terminal..but the LAX international terminal, beyond security, is pretty ordinary to say the least. The 'F' lounge there is pretty ordinary too. Give me the Qantas Club in Port Hedland any day!!

I agree , the lounge is hot, sweaty and with the slowest wi-fi in any lounge I've ever been in. To be avoided at all costs !!

Thanks for confirming the Internet was lousy in LAX First lounge.
I was thinking it was my magic slow down touch.
It is such a surprise seeing we have a place 20 minutes away where the Internet is lightning fast.
It must create bad impressions for travellers who are expecting the best and get a connection at the 1990 speed.
Surely QF should fix it.
Maybe they need to try the SQ Changi lounge to figure how far off the pace they are with their LAX First lounge
