Looking at a route for later in the year, will Scoot through check the baggage to SQ

And second would the through check onto a BA flight after

PER-SIN Scoot eco paid
SIN-LHR SQ business redemption
LHR-JER BA eco paid

3 separate tickets

Scoot don’t through check if on separate itinerary.

SQ usually do to non-LCCs but there are reports out there (on Flyertalk I think) of through checking to BA at LHR being problematic.

Cheers for the info there is a big difference between the SQ and Scoot fares

Will prob just wait on my wait lists and see if any come in

PER all the way to JER! That would be one very well travelled bag by the time it gets there.

Scoot won't check through on separate itineraries but you can use transfer desk in SIN to get onward boarding pass and they manually transfer luggage through as well.

From memory the Scoot flight SYD-SIN arrives T1 and I assume the Scoot flight PER-SIN also arrives T1 so just head over to Transfer A, Transfer B or Transfer F.

That's an odd decision on their part. Doesn't that just create more work for them with a manual transfer? They have to go looking for the bag which is well on its way to the arrival carousel and in most cases would be sitting on the side waiting to be picked up.

It's not that odd really. They've been doing this for a long time, 15+ years if not longer. I used to buy AY economy then later business class BKK-SIN and connect to QF SIN-SYD/BNE returns that were cheap and did not depend on seasonality and use transfer desk. Very efficient. I think KUL and BKK also provide similar service. It actually saves lots of people queuing at inbound immigration, checkin and outbound immigration.

Yes I get that part - they're effectively halving the effort required by passengers. But wouldn't it save everyone's time if they just allowed to check through automatically from Scoot -> SQ? They don't need to send someone looking for the baggage on the arrival floor.
