I Had a "discussion" with QF the other day re a booking of mine O class and they emailed a schedule change of 10 minutes in departure of one of the sectors. I called to use this change as an excuse to change ticket to another day that had O availability and the operator (on Plat priority number) said that they would not change days, as the schedule change was of a "minor" type and that my arrival time was still within 10 minutes of the original time. Anybody have any ideas of what options I should have available. I was really just using the schedule change as a "reason" for the date change and claiming that it no longer suited me with the changed flight times.

You should have limited options. You demand to change days is unreasonable. It is only a 10 minute schedule change.

If you want to change days pay the change fee.

Sorry to be blunt but it sounds like you are trying to take advantage because you really want to fly on a different day. Maybe if there are on flowing consequences of the schedule change, that you haven't mention, my opinion would be different.

Yes , you are correct, I was angling for the free date change, have been lucky and got away with it a couple of times, eg when the Qld old govt publishes dates for long weekends and then a new government changes the dates.

The best I've scored in your situation (same, small time change) was to move to an earlier flight on the same day. Unlikely they will move you to a different day unless there's some connection you'll miss that only runs on certain days.

Agree, max change is likely to be same day only. 10mins is nothing.

I have been able to get a full refund for a booking that was going SYD-MEL-SIN and the MEL-SIN leg was brought forward 2-3 hours.

I did not really want to fly that day (anymore) and I did not want to fly SYD-MEL 2-3 hours earlier.

But agree that 10 minutes may not quite be enough for a change but I would still try.
