Due to the current refugee situation in the Mediterranean , SAS offers its passengers the opportunity to check in extra baggage with supplies on departure. Those flying to the Mediterranean region can thus pack with clothes , shoes and hygiene items to refugees in need without paying anything extra for the luggage. SAS passengers do not need to register or apply for this in advance .
