Sitting in our hotel foyer in Helsinki waiting for check in time. Not long to go now. It’s been 38 hrs since we left home! I’m tired and looking forward to a shower but otherwise the trip was quite stress free.

Helsinki looks lovely - it’s green and leafy and lots of cafes and boutiques in the area near our hotel. Looking forward to exploring tomorrow.

Suomenlinna is both visually impressive and rich in history. It provides plenty to explore for a full day, including various museums, bunkers and fortress walls. You can learn all about the island's history as you pass the many well-preserved buildings and explore the various museums, bunkers and tunnels.
