Scams like these

Very most likely, that the Turkish Railway thingo, if that is transaction is legit, and that you are going to there on that European trip, that side has been compromised, or that someone there has put in a system to copy card data.
Personally, if I were going for a trip like that, to Europe, I would have gotten a virtual transaction, with a single use CCV, some banks have that.
But too late now I guess/would surmise.
That's interesting about dynamic cvv . Unfortunately the main card I use os (Macquarie) doesn't have it that I can see, however wbc and nab(mycard) do. I presume that when buying something (Turkish train tickets) one logs into the bank app and gets the dynamic cvv rather than using the one on the cr card?
This from wbc:

Help stop fraudsters with dynamic CVV/CVC

Dynamic CVV/CVC reduces the risk of fraudulent card activity by over 50% as it refreshes the 3-digit security number on your Westpac debit or credit Digital Card every 24 hours

I have a revolut account specifically for access to virtual and one-time use cards for this very reason (it's not dynamic CVV). At the time I think it was just them who provided access to virtual cards. I don't know if any other providers have the facility but to me this is the easiest way to keep safe with online purchases.
