Not sure why someone in Brazil wants to lend me money? Especially when the email comes from someone different to the signee

If not, the interest will probably be 50% or more.

If you get anything supposedly from "mygov", go to a laptop and hover, mine read mygov, and you have a message, but then, on hovering, it reads, "fillingteam(at)marcocollesta.au"!

I had someone pretending to be from Telstra saying my NBN is about to be cut if I don't pay an overdue bill, except I am on Optus 5G.

The Booking hack was more recent (April). If one or more of your reservations was in the data breach, they should have advised you and issued a new Pin for that booking along with this warning/reminder that:

• They’ll never ask to share CC details by email, over the phone, text or Whatsapp
• Never ask for bank transfer
• And to be vigilant if you receive an email claiming to be from the hotel

I have an upcoming stay that was booked about a week before the hack. They have everything. Booking ref, hotel name, address, checkin/out dates, my name, phone number and email. Arguably worse than the QF Data breach but your hardly hear anything.

A couple of weeks ago I received two WhatsApp messages - which I reported. It was pretty obvious and dumb as they purported to be from Expedia… But o/n I received a very convincing looking email claiming to be from the hotel but with a non-descript email address.

I’m tempted to cancel and rebook but will message the hotel first via the Booking platform.

I found another email in spam purportedly from the hotel wanting me to reconfirm. This one had all my details in the email but strangely the wrong amount in euros. I'd had the automatic payment go through a week before but I will contact the hotel again to tell them of this.

Boling.com, I do like to use them for my bolings.

Thank you so much for contacting me. I have been trying to cancel that service for months. So you are now telling me that if I do nothing you will be cancelling it! Thank you so much.

Some woman with a strong accent saying she was from Visa Card services to assist me with a suspicious overseas transaction.

I asked her what she thought of herself when she looked in the mirror in the morning and how disappointed her parents would be knowing what she was doing.

“Click”. She didn’t want to hear any more.

Should have said:
In Australia, only a card issuer can and will contact a customer in the instance of fraud.
