I had a call last week from a person saying they are from Telstra and my NBN is about to get disconnected if I don't pay an overdue bill. Except I am with Optus on their 5g broadband so not connected to the NBN at all.

My response to those calls normally goes something like this:

"Thank you so much for contacting me. I asked for that service to be disconnected months ago, so please just go ahead and disconnect it immediately. Thank you so much for helping get this sorted."
