The call recorded as coming from +66, so its a Thai based phone # that is doing the scamming now.
Didnt call back, so not sure where it would have routed to, but it was a "press 1" to talk to someone.

I just got a recorded voice message from 'PayPal' to say that there was a suspicious payment of $750 on my PayPal account. It asked me to press 1 to confirm the payment or 2 to reject it - I did neither. Part of the problem is that our PayPal account is in my wife's name and not mine. The call did not identify who the owner of the account was claimed to be. Plus the phone number on the account is not the number that was rung. Of course I checked the account anyway and there has been no recent activity. The number is now blocked - even though I know that it will not be used again but it made me feel a bit better.

Race tipping services. I've subscribed to more than a dozen UK tipping services in the past 6 months with mixed results.

Must take a special kind of scammer to be in this industry like everyone else involved? And a special kind of fool that thinks they can make money gambling. Almost everyone of these services fudge their results.

Read things like 17 consecutive months of profit and as soon as I sign up they have a loss for 3 months and a few have had losses for 6 months but when you read further advertising they don't have any losing months.

One service is an interesting one. They were down in February and 6-7 days from end of month they got in front. How? They advised 10 runners on one day and got 5 winners but when they sent the update said they had 6 winners. I checked and checked and nope only 5 winners. So fudge results. Then next few days they went down again and in second last day got one point in front and true to firm they did not advise any bets on last day. By the way their March is on fire.

Another tipping service consistently tips favourites as 50/1 but when they are never those odds with most around 5/1-9/1. I lost quite a bit on the 3 month 3 trial but they jag one of these "long" priced winners and their tipping service looks good on their own advised statistics.

But note it's not all bad. There are currently 3-4 tipping services that show positive signs of consistent profits. I'll keep an eye on these and trim down the number of services subscribed. The other thing I've learned is to keep stakes low on new services I've subscribed and only increase stakes if trial looks good.
