Are you sure they weren't from Facebook - they would be happy to turn off the Australian Government;)
 
Had a roboscam call a couple of days ago, seeking to confirm that I had just bought an Iphone of some sort, and press 1 if this is incorrect. Tempted, but I pressed "end call" instead.

Scary eh Drron, they are using Aust mobile phones now.
If its not like the ones you describe,
a.then its the NAB sending "your account has been locked" also from an Aust mobile phone number.
b.turns out scammers can now get into peoples Amazon account somehow, from a geo location of Sydney no less.
Even Aust is not immune now from scammers with Aust mobile phone numbers, real or spoof.
For VPS, trace the raw message sender, and block the Lady, or hover over sender, but then again, too, maybe that is a pointless exercise, as they will just use ((cvbbeerrttqy2*m*il@m*ai.com)) to send their next spam spam.

But this afternoon they have reneged on automatically renewing my non existent Amazon Prime account and are threatening to close it.

The emails are not a scammer, just a stuff up It seems. Dan’s website has an alert apologising for the non-delivery emails.
