Mrs Burnt has a 3 sector ASA(U class) from the West to BNE, if she asks at check in if she was able to get home on other flights in only 2 sectors (still in bus.), would she be credited with SC as per original booking? note this is a voluntary re route.

I reckon because it is a voluntary re-route there is a good chance that she will receive SCs for the actual route flown. Of course if it was an involuntary change the ORC principle comes into play.

Agree with HVR.
I believe ORC only applies to involuntary changes

Also suspect it is unlikely that QF would make that change on award tickets.

I am not convinced the advice regarding Original routing credit is correct.

I had an itinerary LST-MEL-SYD-BNE and the flight was delayed out of LST. Got to MEL and while I was in the lounge the MEL-SYD was delayed which meant I would have missed the SYD-BNE flight.

I was offered a direct MEL-BNE flight and I accepted. That is not involuntary change.

The MEL-BNE flight credited to QFF account and I sent feedback to Qantas customer care for Original Routing Credit and it was fixed in a few days.

Thanks JohnK,

It was a bit academic on my part as Mrs Burnt tried to get direct from Perth to Brisbane without going via Melb but the direct to Brisbane was already full, she did however score an invitation from the QF lounge staff to visit the Perth CL ( which she accepted) .

Umm that is an involuntary change. The airline initiated it to address delays on their side. You did not ask to change, you only accepted qantas' change.
