Have just booked RT SYD-DPS in the recent sale and have added starter plus package. I noted that this earns 40 Qantas SC's each way. Is this correct as it seems a lot!

Yes. Jetstar economy with the plus bundle earns the same as "Economy" on Qantas international flights. Which means you'll actually earn more status credits on a dirt cheap Jetstar sale fare than on a Qantas Red-e-Deal fare. Seems fair to me...

Couldn't agree more !

I recently flew MEL > SIN return on a max bundle fare for just on $900 ( ok original fare was purchased on a club Jetstar bargain basement fare of $169 each way , but received an offer to upgrade each sector for $ 240 each way to business max) .

Got the 26000 QF FF points & 240 SC in the bag = one very happy camper requalified Platinum.

I Would have had to spend another $3000 to earn the same number of FF points & SC with mainline QF .
