When in Switzerland this week I was using the SBB app to purchase tickets - as I have done in the past. Very convenient and way better than mucking around with ticket machines.

I did discover the EasyRide function - basically when you start the journey you swipe right to start the trip and swipe left when you finish. At the end of the day it works out the cheapest fare and charges your CC. Interestingly, it did work well. I would have bought a 9 zone pass for Zurich for my trips yesterday, but it combined a cheaper 6 and 3 zone trip.
