Definitely not bad for AA points sweeping: the economics come out to be almost the same.

With AAdvantage 60k + 30k special: USD 0.020097 per point

With SPG 25% off 20k Starpoints special (swept into 25k AA points): USD 0.0021 per point (about 4.5% worse off)

I've only bought small quantities of SPG points previously. Is 25% about as good as it gets for a discount?

I haven't seen anything better than 25% in the last few years but I haven't been actively looking/hoping to buy SPG points.

I might take up buying 20K this round, call me a dope but I will be sending those points to SQ KF to "top up" my account so I can book my 2 x F savers for early next year. I'll get 20K SPG => 25K KF at around $550 versus $1,000 that SQ wants ($40/1,000).
