We have an overnight stopover for our BEJ-BNE flight with Malaysia Airlines in April. I booked Airside hotel in the Satellite A Bldg (which I believe was renovated last year) for 12 hours.
If anyone has had a stopover here recently can you help with a comment on the above establishment?

Also what happens to luggage on a connecting flight ..is it transferred to the next aircraft ?

Finally, would Aussie dollars be acepted for meal purchase, etc within the Satellite A building?

Appreciate your help/tips.

I will be overnighting KUL later this month and do not want to go into the city preferring to stay near the airport.

I have had a look at the Airside Hotel and it looks a little pricey but there does not appear to be any availability for the night I want.

I have looked at Concorde Inn which is not too far and is very reasonably priced at ~AUD60/night including breakfast. Should I expect any issues getting a taxi to here since it is close to airport? What sort of taxi fare should I expect to pay?

John,

Have a look at the Hilton, it is at KL Central, about a 5min walk from the KL Express train, and the train is 28 minutes each way at 35MYR each way. It might be worth consifring as an option.

I've stayed in Airside hotel in KL its very good, much better than SIN's airside hotel.

On a aside story,I had left my jeans on the floor whilst showering not realising that water was running onto the titles, my jeans were drenched and not wearable, with only 40 mins before my flight and no spare pants in my carryon I started to panic.called the airside hotel reception and explained the situation + urgency.. They said they had no laundry nearby but would try their best to do something.. Anyway 10 mins before flight knock at the door the guy had gone to another terminal dried and pressed my jeans in 30 mins, needless to say I was very thankful to him!

IIRC, the Concorde Inn runs a shuttle bus every half hour.

I have never caught a taxi from the airport, but in general, Kuala Lumpur taxi drivers are shockers for rejecting fares if they don't want to go somewhere.....

Me and partner stayed there last year on our way to Vietnam. Clean simple rooms, nothing to write home about. Really convenient for a not-so-long transit.
your luggage will be checked all the way through to your final destination
AUD, from my memory, were not accepted but plenty of ATMs everywhere, you can get some ringgits for smaller purchases if you don't feel like using your credit/debit card

I wanted to try out the Hilton but I do not get in to KUL until after 10:00pm and will try to be at airport ~7:00am so trying to avoid going too far. Best price I could see for last minute booking is MYR418 but would not have any time to utilise Gold benefits, if any.

Thanks. I did not notice this information on 3rd party websites. I should have checked the hotel website.
