Hi All,

I am going to be flying CBR - SYD (return) for a day trip next week. I am flying out on Virgin Australia in the morning (not my choice, cheapest flight) and then returning on Qantas in the evening.

I am Qantas Gold so I have lounge access when flying Qantas, but I am not a member of the Virgin Lounge. However, because I am flying Qantas on that same day my question is - can I get lounge access in the morning (i.e. when flying out on Virgin) because I have a Qantas flight later that day?

Thanks for any advice!

Technically you only have access in SYD.

10.1 Subject to these Terms and Conditions, Qantas Club Members are entitled to access the Qantas Club lounge in the departure port when the Member's next onward flight on that day is with Qantas, QantasLink or Jetstar.

That being said, depending on how nice the staff in CBR, you might get in.

Just show your FF Gold card and they will assume you are doing e-chip check in
inhale never been asked to tap my card going through

Don't know about CBR but my WP Card has been scanned each of the last 5 entries into the PER QF Lounge.

I've noticed that the Perth lounge staff are more cough (make that conscientious) about scanning cards than their Sydney or Melbourne counterparts. I don't think I've ever been stopped once in Sydney or Melbourne after flashing my card, but often am asked to do so in Perth.

Never been scanned on domestic in either Sydney or Melbourne (yes every time on international, and every time on VA)

just act like you own the joint!

Depending on which day you fly, i may be able to guest you into the VA lounge should you wish to. Just send me a PM.

and if you can't trust a guy dressed in Hi Viz, who can you trust? :p

The Lounge Guards in Perth are pretty tough. It seems as though practically everyone who travels within WA is WP so I guess they have to check.

+1 Including after a check-in at 0545. Couldn't understand why anyone would want to try and worm their way into the QP at that time though
