Hi guys,

We are planning on a RTW trip (economy 140k FF points each) leaving August 2020 but we plan on going for 8-12 weeks. Do I have to wait until the final return date becomes available to book the full trip or can you book it partially as the flights become available??

I've locked down the airlines and flights to meet the criteria just wondering how people jump on the flights as soon as the are released.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I rarely use points for Y International redemptions, saving for J/F. I’d usually risk a return of 3wks duration however with a RTW you’re probably going for much longer.

Given the general availability of Y over Premium - plus (usually!) far greater routing/frequency options, I’d be tempted to wait and book all at once.

Regards,

BD

Please note that the 140k OneWorld Award ticket is not “round the world”. You do not have to go “around the world” for this ticket to be valid.

There is a very comprehensive thread here:

"oneworld" award (140K/280K/420K) Planning - The Definitive Thread

That thread will answer your question above, plus no doubt the several hundred more questions that you will have as you start out on the process.

Good luck and have fun with it.
