Sorry if this has been asked a million times before but I just couldn't find a definitive answer to my question.
Row 43 on the refurbished 3-class B747-400 where there are 2 rows in the mini cabin. I know this is a bassinet seat but is there extra legroom in this row? Seatguru says that the legroom is restricted but I have read contradicting reports, saying there is a cut-out in the bulkhead that gives you good extra legroom like on Virgin's row 3 on their B737-800s.

The bassinet is 43D and 43G. There is a cut-out in the bulkhead.

There is now a charge to pre-allocate these seats?

The middle 4 seats can't be pre-allocated. They're blocked because it's where the bassinets are. The seats on the side have a charge for pre-allocation as extra legroom seats.

There is a cut out but, as with most QF bulkheads, it is NOT extra leg room if you are 5'10" or taller. The cut out is an illusion to create 'extra' space because the main bulkhead is closer.

It's probably marginally better than row 23 on A333 or row 32 upstairs on A388.

Would row 46 be better than row 43 on these birds then?

I am comparing 43D to 46D. Which of these 2 has more legroom?
