Roomba, Dysons, Thermomix and other household appliances

Im looking for one to put in our apartment that has no drying space and thankfully not allowed on the balcony.

Choice.com.au recommends the Miele WTH130WPM, the Samsung WD75M4453JW BubbleWash (which is what I tried) and the Samsung WD85K6410OW. But they also say of washer-dryers "It seems like a great idea, but they can be expensive, more prone to break downs, and many of them take a very long time to dry a load of clothes. Some of them even use more water to dry your clothes than to wash them (sometimes a lot more – up to 210 litres!)."

And how about combo clothes washer / dryers?
We always get separates. Washing Ariston or Miele. Dryer many to chose. Never break down unlike washing machines since they are just a motor, drum, belt and heater.

Miele has a new feature where it sends a message to your phone when the washing is done. Front loaders take days to do a wash.

I'm torn. I have a tiny laundry/second bathroom combo. I'd get 600 mm more flat bench space if I can combine. But I didnt have a great experience with a combo in our Vic rental apartment but was hoping things may have improved. I can sit dryer on top of washer though if I have to. .

And how about combo clothes washer / dryers?

Only used one in an AirBNB in Lisbon.

A single cycle for lightly soiled clothes took more than 3 hours during which you can't wash/dry anything else (so if you have washing sorted into whites, undies, colours, linen etc - washing day becomes a whole day).

Not sure if it was just the model/settings but the drying cycle was quite long and a very high heat and some clothes were damaged.

Probably best to look at reviews of the specific manufacturer and models you are interested in.

Can you wall mount the drier above the washing machine? That way you still get the bench space on top of the washing machine.

We have an LG combo washer dryer plus a separate LG heat pump condenser dryer.
Heat pump condenser or any condenser dryer cannot be mounted on wall, though they can be situated on top of a washer using a special stacking kit. (Front loader obviously)

but will not buy the LG heat pump condenser dryer again because it only spins on the one direction causing clothes to bundle up

Also had a LG combo in an apartment. Convenient and space saving. But as has been stated, drying was very slow. Probably would get again if I was tight on space.

Never had problem with bunching when drying.

We have a front loader Miele (washer only separate drier in different brand on the wall above it). Very pleased with it. Light soiled cottons/linens cycle is 40mins in warm water. Eco quick wash is 0:30. A full cycle “autowash” hot water is around 1:30.

My fairly new Bosch front loader takes 45 minutes for a general cycle. It's a much better wash and especially spin than my old top loader.
