Hi all,
Q, If I transfer Velocity points to my KF account, can I purchase rewards tickets BNE-FCO for two friends of mine as can be done with VA?
Cheers

Hi Billytjefish
Geeez that's a bit harsh. 3000 miles to remove someone. Ok, do you know if the incoming friends require a KF account in order to be added? Cheers

Well, yes and no. It's a policy designed to prevent people selling award tickets for profit.

I think it's good that it's not limited to the QF "family" policy which is impossible to enforce. Airlines want to avoid it being open slather to avoid abuse of the system. Within these rules, you can redeem for anyone you want, but at a small cost and you can't change each nominee within 6 months. Not a bad middle ground.

If you don't chase SQ status and don't fly SQ all that often you could probably get around it by closing your KF account and opening a new one anyway.

Nominees don't need a KF account.
